It is used to measure the force – expressed in Newton – needed to pull a terminal off a crimped wire. The pulling speed can be set between 15 and 120mm/minute. The instrument has a serial communications port. Every SMST is tuned in our laboratory, and its calibration is carried out with Mecal specific equipment MST 0158, fitted with 546 QDT force analyzer. Also available as a splice version.
